Cleaning Smartcret is a straightforward process. It can be easily cleaned with water and a pH-neutral soap. However, for those seeking a professional outcome while preserving all the microcement's properties, our exclusive products, Smart Cleaner and Smart Wax, are available for the care, maintenance, and cleaning of microcement.

Is microcement waterproof?

Our pre-mixed microcement, in its natural form, can withstand flowing water and humidity. Smartcret microcement application

Can I apply Smarcret microecement even if i have no DIY experience?

Having DIY knowledge is advantageous, but it's not a prerequisite. Even if you're unfamiliar with DIY, you can confidently complete the task by following our step-by-step guide without encountering any issues.

Is smartcret easy to apply?

SMARTCRET Do It Yourself offers user-friendly application, eliminating the need for complex mixing of components. It's an ideal choice for DIY enthusiasts, and our comprehensive documentation, featuring detailed step-by-step instructions and video tutorials, further streamlines the application process.

Prior to applying Smartcret, surface preparation with a primer is necessary.

SMARTCRET is applied in multiple layers using a trowel, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use on both vertical and horizontal surfaces, provided they are level and consolidated.

Maintaining thin coats is crucial to prevent the occurrence of cracks. It is essential to adhere to the specified drying times outlined in the step-by-step instructions for each surface.

Upon completion of the drying process, it is recommended to seal the product with SMARTCRE Varnish to optimize its protective properties.

Can Smartcret be applied over joints?

If the surface to be coated has joints, it is necessary to level the surface with our Smart Jointer product.

Does smartcret require a mesh prior to application?

No. Ensuring optimal application of the material involves applying it thinly and adhering to specified drying times. If mesh or a profile is introduced, a thicker layer becomes necessary to provide adequate coverage. This, in turn, delays drying and impacts the material's hardness.

Nevertheless, surface condition plays a crucial role in the process. It's imperative to verify that the surface is in good condition before applying the product. Applying microcement over a damaged or subpar surface can lead to cracking. Importantly, any cracks that may occur are attributable to the substrate's poor condition, not due to the absence of mesh.

Does Smartcret require mixing?

Before commencing the application, it is essential to mix SMARTCRET Do It Yourself thoroughly. Our products are conveniently packaged in six buckets to facilitate manual mixing using a spatula. However, if you have access to a mechanical mixer, it is highly advantageous.

How do I stop the excess from spoiling after application

To maintain the product's properties when temporarily halting the application, cover the surface of the bucket with a plastic film to prevent air contact and drying. Subsequently, securely seal the bucket and store it in a cool place away from direct light.

Can I paint over smartcret microcement?

Certainly, painting over microcement is possible. The Smart Varnish sealer, designed to protect the microcement by repelling dirt and other substances, might create a surface that needs proper preparation for painting. Sanding is a recommended method to prepare the surface, ensuring good adhesion for the paint. Once sanded, you can proceed with painting over the microcement without encountering any issues.

Can microcement be used on top of stippled surfaces?

Smartcret is ideally applied on smooth and level surfaces. If you intend to use the product on stippled surfaces, the initial step is to either level the existing surface or remove the stippling before application. This ensures optimal results and adherence of Smartcret.

How long does Smartcret microcement take to dry?

Every phase of the Smartcret application process comes with a specific drying time. Overall, Smartcret exhibits a rapid drying characteristic, enabling completion in significantly less time compared to conventional renovation projects. Comprehensive details on drying times can be found in our detailed step-by-step guide.
